This luxurious boudoir session is one of my recent favorites, and not only because my client Brooke is drop-dead gorgeous, but because every detail fell into place. From the stunning private suite in a downtown Nashville hotel, to the excellent collaborative work of our hair and makeup team, to the stunning lingerie Brooke brought to the session - each aspect came together beautifully. We started with a more natural look and worked our way towards a dramatic style at the end of the session. Having our styling team on location was essential, and hair stylist AmyRose of Hocus Pocus and makeup artist Katie-Laine Thornton brought our visions to life. Stay tuned for a follow up post featuring Brooke with her BFF - because the only thing that’s more fun than doing a boudoir session alone is bringing in your best friend! This is the second time I've had the pleasure of creating with Gwen, and we always make magic together. I loved the ideas she had for this session, including the witchy props, her beautiful wardrobe items, and the jewel-tone fabrics used to create our sets. Plus her tiny black kitten made an appearance! Hair & makeup was done by the amazing Katie-Laine Thornton.
Oh those Clocktower Clockettes really know how to make me smile! I loved doing this 1980s session with dancer Peggy Tulane. She used some of these images to promote her Ladies of the 80s show at the Clocktower Cabaret in downtown Denver earlier this year! Enjoy her bitchin' photos celebrating all things 80s!
Now that Colorado is my new home, I absolutely love creating images in my new city of Denver! Bettie wanted beautiful burlesque portraits with the city as her backdrop, and we had a great time frolicking around Colfax, Civic Center Park, and the Denver Art Museum. Passersby were doing double-takes all day with Bettie's gorgeous burlesque costumes. This shoot was so much fun and I can't wait to do more like this!
I've noticed lately that ladies are asking more about the difference between a private boudoir session and my "day long specials." At the specials, I photograph multiple ladies scheduled throughout the day. Everyone gets the same set options, and hair and makeup are available as add-on services for the complete makeover. At a private session, the only person I am photographing is you. You receive custom, specialized hair and makeup styling, as well as a location of your choosing. Instead of a quick-moving 45 minute session, the private photo shoot is between 90 minutes and 3 hours, depending on the package you choose. Private sessions are more customized, so you can do multiple looks (say, a 20s flapper vixen and a 40s bombshell pinup), and wear multiple outfits.
This session is a great example of my Standard private photo shoot. Katherine chose to shoot in her home, which is super fun and beautiful, and we did the photo shoot at night. The results are stunning - a 60s sex kitten glamour style with multiple wardrobe changes, moods, and expressions. Shana Michelle Taylor styled her hair, and Crystal Rose Brown did her makeup. I love the way these turned out - and Katherine's wardrobe choices were spot on!
