This luxurious boudoir session is one of my recent favorites, and not only because my client Brooke is drop-dead gorgeous, but because every detail fell into place. From the stunning private suite in a downtown Nashville hotel, to the excellent collaborative work of our hair and makeup team, to the stunning lingerie Brooke brought to the session - each aspect came together beautifully. We started with a more natural look and worked our way towards a dramatic style at the end of the session. Having our styling team on location was essential, and hair stylist AmyRose of Hocus Pocus and makeup artist Katie-Laine Thornton brought our visions to life. Stay tuned for a follow up post featuring Brooke with her BFF - because the only thing that’s more fun than doing a boudoir session alone is bringing in your best friend! So often when I travel to Nashville for portrait photography, my team and I build big sets or discover a unique and stylish shooting location - so for this photo shoot special I decided to simplify and only use 3 sets: a luxurious boudoir velvet set, a leopard print backdrop, and my sequin backdrops. The results are incredible - every client brought their own unique styling and looks to these sessions and I’m thrilled with them. I love photographing boudoir in hotel rooms. One of my favorite hotels to shoot at in Nashville has the most gorgeous decor, and my client Brooke brought her own special touch: red satin sheets. With her dark hair and likeness to a young Angelica Huston, Brooke gave off edgy bombshell vibes. These photos were used in a custom album for her fiancé; something tells me he was happy with the results. I also love the idea of shooting in red or emerald satin sheets for the holidays…any takers?

Taking boudoir photos in Nashville is always such a pleasure - especially with a shooting location as gorgeous as this one! I noticed Becky’s fabulous home on her Instagram posts and decided to message her to see if she would let me shoot there for a day, and she said yes! With a mint-green velvet sectional sofa, a pink dining room, and a foyer with gorgeous foliage wallpaper, we had so many options on where to pose. Even a clawfoot tub! Thank you to Becky and Michael for letting the glam squad take over your home for a day! Hair & makeup provided by AmyRose of Hocus Pocus and Katie-Laine Thornton. In September 2017, I traveled back to my hometown of Nashville to do a series of 10th Anniversary events and photo shoots. I planned three big themed photo shoot specials, and Tea Party was one of them. Talk about pastel decadence - Tea Party made all of my sugar plum dreams come true! I teamed up with longtime collaborator AmyRose of Hocus Pocus Beauty Boutique in Whites Creek. She not only styled hair for Tea Party, but she also provided the perfect location in her salon and many of the props you see on the set. She has an incredible collection of glass dishes, tea sets, and fabrics that helped make a decadent backdrop for these images. With another longtime collaborator - Alicia Maynard - doing makeup, this photo shoot special became a fun day of playing dress up. Thank you to everyone who participated! Pictured here are: Sylvie (who styled her own hair & makeup), Mel, Marie, Lavender, and Zelda <3
