Muse Spotlight: Lori | Connecticut Boudoir Photographer
Lori booked her session as a gift for her husband—but I got the impression that it wasn’t just about him. It was about her too. About reconnecting with herself after becoming a mom. About standing in front of the camera and seeing how beautiful she truly is, even though her body has changed.
Let’s talk about that for a just a sec. Bodies are supposed to change.
Life happens. We grow, we stretch, we carry, we heal. We’re not meant to stay frozen in time. And yet, so many of us feel like we’ve failed when our bodies look different.
She drove all the way from Massachusetts to my CT studio, nervous as hell, but she showed up anyway. That’s the part that matters. Not confidence. Not knowing what you’re doing. Just… showing up. And she trusted me.
She let me guide her through the poses. She let herself ease into it. And somewhere in the middle of the session, something shifted. You could see it. The way she held herself changed. The way she looked at the camera changed. The way she saw herself started to change.
We all look different. We’re all shaped differently. There is no “before” body you need to get back to in order to be worthy of feeling beautiful. You already are. Sometimes you just need to see it.
When Lori viewed her images, she didn’t just like a few—she loved them. So much so that she upgraded to the 35 image collection.
That doesn’t happen because of me. That happens because something inside you clicks and you finally recognize the woman in front of you.
The woman your partner already sees. The woman you’ve been too hard on. The woman who needs your love.
She didn’t walk in confident. She gave herself permission to be brave. And that’s all I ask of you: to give yourself permission.
