Meet the Photographer!
Have we met? I'm Stephanie, a photographer at Connecticut-based boudoir studio La Photographie! If you’re thinking about booking a boudoir photo shoot, I’d love to learn more about you. In the meantime, you can read below to get to know me a little better ☺️
I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. I am a Southern gal at heart, and you’ll hear it in my accent.
I love to eat potatoes. Mash em, fry em, stick em in a stew. My favorite might be hash browns. With ketchup of course.
I began my photography journey in 2007 after a trip to Prague where I took wayyyyy too many pictures. I was inspired by friends who were doing photography as a hobby, and after some informal modeling, I was hooked.
My first photo shoot experience was in 2002 in NYC! I was an intern for Paper Magazine and I got to assist on a fashion editorial shoot featuring the legendary Andre Leon Talley.
I am a moon worshipper - I follow moon phases closely and I’m known to stare longingly at a full moon. I’m the friend who will say “Did you see the moon tonight?”
My favorite thing about Connecticut is how charming it is! Being close to the water isn’t bad either.
I love cemeteries. A lot. I have traveled to many foreign cities and toured their cemeteries, snapping photos the whole time. I have a particular fondness for the Parisian Catacombs and Montmartre Cemetery.
The best meal I ever had was in Italy, as the guest of an Italian woman who lives on the ocean and grows her own food. The fish was fresh caught that day! I’ve never had tomatoes that tasted so good in my life.
I am super into reading fiction, and even wrote my own mystery novel last year! It’s still in first draft form, but I hope one day to edit it and maybe even publish it.
